Dowloading Documentation

I've setup a public folder in my DropBox so I can link documents directly. 4Shared has been eliminated, use the links on the right column for all documents. No more waiting or signups. Hope this helps!

Registration & Bottle Labels

Hey Guys,

Sorry for not getting these posted sooner. On 4Shared is the Registration Form and the Bottle ID Form. If anyone needs anything else in the meantime shoot me an email.

-Bob

side note: I know 4Shared sucks and is a 30 second wait to download. If anyone has any other options please let me know. I would use DropBox but i believe everyone would have to download that too. Next competition our new website will be live and I'll be able to post there so the problem will be completely taken care of.

Recipe Forms are now posted!

Recipe Forms are now posted. You can download them here:

http://www.4shared.com/office/o11d97KT/REHC_Recipe_Sheet.html

Or from the 4shared link at the right. Please include a Recipe Form with each category's entry that you send or bring in.

Registration forms will be up shortly. I'm still trying to figure out the best provider to work with so you guys and gals can register online instead of having to worry about sending in a form and paper check. I'll keep you posted.

UPDATE:
Just got a revised .pdf from ScottRMitch for the Recipe Form. This updated file allows you to text edit the form fields and should save everyone a significant amount of time. Thanks Scott!

Questions Round 2

Questions from Scott:
  1. For the "Funky Fermentables" category are you basically saying that we should use any fermentable we want but don't turn it into a wine or mead accidentally? Will more odd ingredients earn more points? Does the fermentable have to be in the initial wort or can it be added in secondary?
  2. Also, any idea what the prizes are going to be?
  3. Is it possible to submit one recipe for multiple categories?
Answers
  1. We're trying to keep the beer from becoming a mead, cider, or wine. The fermentable item(s) should be added to the initial wort. If you want to add additional fermentables during secondary fermentation or for bottle conditioning thats up to you but you should note it on your recipe submission.
    • I haven't posted the recipe forms but I should have those up on the blog in the next week or two.
  2. We'll be giving away some awards, schwag, and some stuff from our co-sponsors.
  3. You can submit one recipe to multiple categories but we would really suggest you shoot for the six pack and try to come up with 6 beers (Thats the ultimate in homebrew badassery for this competition). If you choose to submit one recipe to more than one category be prepared to submit bottles for each category and make sure that the brew you come up with is suitable for additional categories based on the guidelines.
    • You can have additional fermentables in the Fruit & Spice category but the real focus is on FLAVOR contributed first and foremost.

First Competition Question

Got my first question this weekend regarding the Platinum Category. You can only use Champagne Yeast in this beer, no other varieties. Hope this helps clarify for everyone. I'll post my responses here in the blog as well so that everyone gets an idea of whats going on out there. If you've got any more questions keep 'em coming!
